What comes out of a unit

THE WHOLE UNIT, NOT JUST THE HEAVY STUFF

Storage units are moves that never finished. A couch, a mattress, boxes of paperwork, a bed frame in pieces, and whatever got shoved to the back when the door last closed.

We take all of it in one visit. Anything worth donating goes to a charity partner, and the floor gets swept so the facility signs off instead of billing you another month.

Why units get cleared

THE REASONS PEOPLE FINALLY CALL

STOPPING THE RENT
Years of monthly fees
Most people pass the value of what’s inside within a year or two. Clearing it once ends the bill for good.
A MOVE THAT NEVER FINISHED
It was temporary
The unit was supposed to be for three months. We clear what never made it into the new place.
AFTER A DEATH
An inherited unit
Family finds a rental agreement in the paperwork. We meet you there and clear it with the same care as a house.
DOWNSIZING
No room for it now
A smaller home means the overflow has nowhere to go. Clearing the unit is usually the last step.
AUCTION & LIEN UNITS
Bought the contents
Buyers have days to clear a unit. We take the unsellable remainder so you keep the deposit.
FACILITY OPERATORS
Abandoned contents
Managers book us for default units, hallway dumping, and turnovers between tenants.
How it works

MEET AT THE GATE, LEAVE IT SWEPT

Storage cleanouts live or die on access. Tell us the facility, the gate hours, and the unit number and we plan the visit around the loading dock and the elevator, not the other way around.

HOW WE PRICE →
01
Send the unit size and photos
A 5x10 and a 10x30 are different jobs. Photos through the open door are enough for a flat quote.
02
We meet you at the facility
Or you leave access instructions with the office. Gate codes, elevators, and upper floors are all normal for us.
03
Empty in one visit
Furniture, boxes, and appliances go straight to the truck. Donatables get separated as we load.
04
Swept and signed off
Floor swept and the unit left inspection-ready so you can close the account that day.
Access and logistics

GATES, ELEVATORS, AND UPPER FLOORS

Facilities all have their own quirks. None of them change the price — they just change how we plan the visit.

Gate codes and office hours
We work inside the facility’s access window. If the office requires a contractor check-in or insurance on file, tell us and we handle it.
Upstairs and interior units
Elevators, long interior hallways, and second-floor units are included. Stairs don’t add a fee.
Climate-controlled buildings
We use floor protection and keep the corridor clear so the manager doesn’t have anything to complain about.
You don’t have to be there
Plenty of out-of-state customers authorize access through the office and approve by photo instead of flying in.
Water damage and mildew
Units flood and leak. Ruined boxes and mildewed furniture get bagged so nothing spreads through the building.
Facility managers and auction buyers

DEFAULT UNITS, TURNOVERS, AND WON LOTS

Half of this work isn’t homeowners at all — it’s the people running or buying the units.

Default and abandoned units
Once the lien process has run, we clear the unit so it can be rented again. Photo documentation on request.
Auction buyers
You keep what sells. We haul the rest inside the facility’s clear-out window so your deposit comes back.
Recurring facility work
Hallway dumping, unit turnovers, and abandoned furniture on a standing schedule with consolidated invoicing.
Volume pricing
Priced by truck space, not by the hour, so a unit that’s deeper than it looked doesn’t become an open bill.
Where it goes

DONATED, RECYCLED, THEN DISPOSED

Storage contents are usually intact — a lot of it goes back into use instead of into a landfill.

Charity donation
Usable furniture, housewares, clothing, and tools go to local nonprofits.
Metal & appliances
Bed frames, filing cabinets, and appliances go to scrap and appliance recyclers.
Mattress recycling
Mattresses and box springs are broken down into steel, foam, and fiber rather than landfilled whole.
Paper & e-waste
Cardboard gets recycled, documents go to shredding, and electronics route to a certified processor.
Storage Unit Cleanouts questions

BEFORE YOU BOOK

How much does a storage unit cleanout cost?+
By how much truck space the contents take, not by the hour. A 5x10 packed to the door is a small job; a 10x30 is most of a truck. Send photos through the open door for a flat quote — details on our pricing page.
Do I have to be at the unit?+
No. Many customers leave access with the office or give us the gate code and unit number, then approve by photo. We send before-and-after shots either way.
Can you get to a second-floor or interior unit?+
Yes. Elevators, long hallways, and upstairs units are routine and don’t change the price.
Do you sweep the unit out?+
Always. Facilities usually require a broom-clean unit before they’ll close the account, so we finish with the floor swept.
I bought a unit at auction. Can you clear the leftovers?+
That’s a regular call. Facilities give buyers a short window — pull what you’re keeping and we’ll haul the rest so you don’t lose the deposit.
Can you handle a unit with water damage or mildew?+
Yes. Ruined boxes and mildewed furniture get bagged before they leave the unit so nothing spreads down the hallway.
Do you work with storage facility managers?+
Regularly — default units, abandoned contents, hallway dumping, and turnovers, with documentation and invoicing for the property.
How fast can you get out there?+
Usually next day, often same day if the facility’s access hours allow it.
